Wednesdays Together Adult Class Offerings, Spring 2012

The Book of John – Pastor Scott Suskovic
You are invited to join Pastor Scott for a deeper study of the Gospel of John on Wednesdays beginning in the fall. In addition to offering the class during our regular Wednesdays Together class time (6:00-7:30 PM), he will also offer it on Wednesday mornings from 9:15-10:45 AM. The class will combine lecture and small group discussion. Forum A/B

When Bad Things Happen to Good People – Pastor Chris Hermansen
In 1977 Harold Kushner lost his son at age 14.  This traumatic event prompted him to tackle the concept of evil and how God is a part of it.  Over 8 weeks we will use this book as a starting point to talk about the real existence of evil in our world and how we, as people of faith, respond to loss, pain, hurt, brokenness and God's role during such tragedy.  I hope you will join us. Forum C

The Book of Romans - Hans Teich
This letter of St. Paul is a summary of his theology following the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No other book of the New Testament has
influenced the Christian Church and especially the Lutheran Christians as much as Romans. We will study in detail St. Paul’s message and what it means for us and the Church today. How do we understand “salvation by grace through faith”. God’s saving act for His sinful creation—us. Adult Library

Christian Yoga - Jo-Dee Collins
Yoga when performed slowly with grace and control is a form of meditation, rather than purely a form of exercise. It ultimately brings the practitioner to a state of inner quiet, which creates a peaceful environment to focus on your faith and relationship with Christ. The physical benefits, such as strength, stamina and flexibility, are automatic and an added bonus, not the main goal. Learn from this ancient discipline to reclaim your body in Christian Spirituality. Learn to quiet your mind and prepare your body for meditation on God’s word and deepen your relationship with your creator. C-204 (Parlor)
