Service opportunities

 
God has gifted us in so many ways and we show our love for God in return by helping those around us.  Below are ways you can help others with your family and friends.

Branching Out
2nd-5th graders
Wednesday Nights, 6:00-7:30 PM
Branching Out is a hands on activity based group that focuses on caring for others (church and community) and learning about the Bible.  Projects include Room in the Inn, Soup Kitchen, Christmas Stockings, Loaves & Fishes, Lutheran World Relief, and games at an assisted living facility.

 Loaves and Fishes    
Collect non–perishables for families in need by filling up grocery bags and bringing them to church during the annual food drive.
 
Alternative Gift Market
Attend as a family and purchase Christmas gifts that will make a difference in others’ lives around the world.

Crisis Assistance
Your family can assist in sorting goods and
 
CROP Walk
You can join thousands in Charlotte in this walk for hunger in October.
 
Operation Christmas Child
Your family will be able to select the gender and age group of a child from another country and then shop for items to fill a shoe box.  This  holiday outreach program shows us how to be more like Jesus at a wonderful time of year.
 
Room at the Inn
Christ Lutheran welcomes 12 homeless guest every Wednesday night from November through March. Help is needed for set-up, serving dinner and providing a bagged lunch for the
 
Soup Kitchen
Christ Lutheran serves lunch at the Soup Kitchen every 3rd Sunday. Your family can sign up to prepare and serve a hot meal to the homeless at Urban Ministries in Uptown Charlotte.
