Healing Service

 

A Healing Service is a worship experience that focuses on our individual needs for restoration of mind, body, and soul. It is designed to be more intimate than a traditional Sunday service and is best undertaken with a handful of people. The service invites participants to receive an anointing (blessed oil placed on one’s forehead made in the name of God) through the ancient rite of laying on of hands after time spent in prayer with the pastor. The service is more meditative and self-reflective in orientation and seeks to unite the healing power of Christ with our wounded selves. People attend the service often for themselves or for a loved one whom they are concerned about. In circumstances of an upcoming surgery or procedure, it is not uncommon for pastors to hold a special service for the patient with his/her family members at the person’s home.
