Love and War

Find the Marriage You've Dreamed of.  Written by John and Stasi Eldredge (Wild at Heart), "Love and War" is a frank, open, and humorous look at marriage and why it is worth fighting for.  Once couples begin moving past the shame and confusion surrounding marriage, "Love and War" show couples how to fight for their love and happiness. Taught by Pastor Scott and Gretchen, this course reveals the calling that all husbands and wives have to experience the great adventure God has awaiting for them together in marriage. Class meets in Forum A & B.

Faith 101

Three fundamental questions for humanity are: Who am I? What is my purpose? Where am I going? As Christians, we are called to respond in a manner reflecting our relationship with Jesus Christ, but what does a faithful response look like? We will investigate our identity as children of God by examining scripture, our Lutheran heritage and our own personal experiences to deepen the connection between God and us. All questions are welcomed. Join Pastor Chris for a time of exploration pertaining to our heart and mind in matters of the divine. Room C-204 The Parlor

5 Love Languages

Join Amy Kunz, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist as she discusses Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages. This class addresses how each person has a different love language and how we can best meet the needs of our partner, children, family members and other relationships by speaking to directly to their love language. This faith based book will also look at how Christ calls us to love one another.  Room C-202

Connect the Dots Pastors' Class

Many people know bits and pieces of the Bible but are unsure of the chronology of events, key stories and how they all connect together. Beginning August 29, we will embark on a year-long sermon series called “Connect the Dots” that will start from Genesis and go through Revelation.  To supplement the sermon on Sunday morning, there will be a pastor’s Sunday class and repeated at Wednesdays Together that will go more in depth with time for conversation. Join our talented retired pastors in Forum C.

The Gospel of Luke

The Gospel shows Jesus’ concern for the outsiders of society, the poor & needy, the women & the foreigners. Even on the cross he shows his concern for the thief. It is the only Gospel which contains our “Christmas story”, the birth of Jesus in Nazareth. We will study, among other, many of the familiar parables. We will see Jesus' trust in God, the Father, expressed also in his last words on the cross, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit." (23:46).  Join Hans Teich in the Adult Library.
