Christ Lutheran Alcohol Policy
Christ Lutheran Church continues to both equip and enrich the faith lives of our current members while also reaching out to non-members and the communities in which we find them in order to spread the Word. The Congregational Council of Christ Lutheran Church reviewed various approaches to permitting, in special circumstances, limited consumption of beer/wine beverages at church-related events. In order for such usage to be consistent with promoting principles of Christian living, the Council approved the following restrictive guidelines to govern the limited use of such beverages on all of its campuses. It is anticipated that the use of these beverages will only be incidental to, and not a focus of, such events, and that consumption will be modest.
Let your moderation be known unto all. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5 (KJV)
The usage of alcohol at any event must have Council approval at least 30 days prior to the event. The following guidelines will be taken into consideration:
There will be no buying or selling of alcohol. Guests must consume in moderation, never displaying any public drunkenness.
Only beer and/or wine will be allowed together with alternative non-alcoholic drinks (this non-alcoholic option will be clearly communicated at all such events).
Care will be taken as to the appropriate presence of youth and children. No beer/wine for the adults will be permitted for an activity that is primarily youth oriented.
The intention is for these events to be congregational in nature.
Council will decide whether or not a licensed bartender will be necessary for the event based on size and the specifics of the event.
Groups must obey all federal, state, and local laws and regulations with respect to alcoholic beverages.
