It’s Time to Plant

It’s Time to Plant

Pastor Scott - September 1, 2025

Last May I wrote a blog about letting the land go fallow. It is a term used when you let a portion of your land lay dormant for a season so that it can rejuvenate and restore. You don’t let the ground go fallow because it seems like a lot of work to plant and till, but so that it can yield an even greater return in the future.

The summer was a time for the ground of CLC to lay fallow. We went to two worship services and suspended Sunday School and Wednesdays Ablaze. (Now, we did pick up Freedom School, Vacation Bible School, two drama camps, a youth mission trip and several maintenance repairs. Evidently, the land was more fallow for some than others!)

However, beginning on September 7, it is time to get those big cogs of the CLC machine cranking and begin planting once again the seeds of the Gospel so that the yield of faith may be greater than ever before.

It’s TIME TO PLANT!

Where will the seeds of faith take root in your heart this year?

·      A renewed commitment to worship, starting with our new sermon series on 1 Peter, A Living Hope

·      Find a Sunday School class to connect with others and grow in the Word

·      Check out Wednesdays Ablaze beginning on September 10 for a dinner, rehearsal, programs or a class (I’m         teaching a Bible Study on 1 Peter)

·      Join a Small Group (inserts will be in the bulletin on September 14 and 21)

·      Serve at McClintock Middle School beginning the end of September

·      Sign up for a volunteer opportunity at the Ministry Fair on September 7

Hasn’t the ground of your heart gone fallow long enough? It’s TIME TO PLANT. It’s TIME TO GROW. It’s TIME FOR RENEWAL. It all begins on September 7.

·      Fall worship times: 8:45 Traditional/10:00 Bridge/11:00 Contemporary

·      Sunday School begins for all ages

·      Ministry Fair in the Lower Commons

·      Free lunch from 10:45-1:00 to reconnect

By summertime, I’m ready for a change. I’m ready to go fallow for a season. But by this time of year, I am eager and excited to begin the planting season once again. And I want you to be there!

It’s Time to Plant!
